FIRST YOU NEED TO DISABLE USER ACCOUNTS CONTROL (UAC):
- Click on Start, and then click on Control Panel, once in the Control Panel, Click on Classic View in the top left.
- Next Locate and Click on USER ACCOUNTS in the list, It is an ICON OF TWO PEOPLE.
- At the Bottom of the list you will see “TURN USER ACCOUNT CONTROL ON OR OFF” Click on this.
- You will receive a POP UP BOX, Asking for Permission to Continue. Click Continue or Allow.
- Within the User Accounts Menu, we Need to Un-Check the Box Next to: “Use User Accounts Control (UAC) to help protect your computer”
- Then Click OK and then Click Yes to Restart Your Computer.
- Now that (UAC) is disabled and the Computer has ReBooted. Go to the folder of the Application we are working on.
C:\Program Files\SCT\”PROGRAM NAME”
For Example, if you are Setting up Advantage to work with Vista, You will be going to C:\Program Files\SCT\Advantage III\
SETUP FILE PROPERTIES
- Once in the Folder, Right Click in the White Space and Hit View / Details.
- Sort the Folder by Type, We need to find all of the Application Files.
- Right click on the first Application File, and hit Properties.
- Once in Properties, Click on the Compatibility Tab at the top.
- Check “Run the Program in Compatibility Mode” – For Windows XP SP2
- Also Place a Check Mark in Disable Desktop Composition.
- Repeat the SETUP FILE PROPERTIES Process for All APPLICATION FILES of the Program you are setting up to run with Vista.
- NOTE: AS FAR AS I KNOW, THIS WILL NOT WORK WITH 64 BIT VISTA.
