Save your Custom Tunes from Email to your Computer
Your Custom Tunes will be sent as attachments to an email. The first thing you need to do is save them to your computer. I prefer to save them to the Desktop so that they are easy to find. Other common choices are Downloads and My Documents. Just make sure to remember where you saved them.

How to Save attachments using different email programs:
Yahoo: Scroll to the bottom of the email, and look for a file starting with MPT. It will likely have a paperclip icon on it. Click on them individually saving them one at a time. It is better to not press the Download All button. When the option to Save File or Open with comes up, choose Save File. Press Ok. Choose a location you will remember. Typically the default saving location is Downloads. It is recommended to NOT change the file name. Keep it as MPT has named it.

Hotmail: Attachments will be at the top of the email, usually looking like a piece of a paper with one corner folded. Do not click on Download as zip. Click on the piece of paper icon to download each file individually. When the option to Save File or Open with comes up, choose Save File. Press Ok. Choose a location you will remember. Typically the default saving location is Downloads. It is recommended to NOT change the file name. Keep it as MPT has named it.

Gmail: Scoll to the bottom of the email, and look for a file starting with MPT. It will likely have a small icon next to it that looks like a small piece of paper with one corner folded. Click on the piece of paper icon to download each file individually. When the option to Save File or Open with comes up, choose Save File. Press Ok. Choose a location you will remember. Typically the default saving location is Downloads. It is recommended to NOT change the file name. Keep it as MPT has named it.
Tech Tip: After saving, do not try to open the file by clicking on it. The files will be opened through the SCT software. Proceed with the instructions listed below.
  Install the Software
Step 1) With the Tuner unplugged we need to install the SCT Device Updater Software. This can be done by clicking here:
SCT DEVICE UPDATER - Install Link

Step 2) Select RUN to begin the software installation process.

Step 3) The SCT Device Updater - InstallShield Wizard will open up, you will be pressing NEXT and INSTALL at the window prompts.

During the software installation, you will receive another InstallShield Wizard for SCTDrivers. Select NEXT and INSTALL for this prompt as well.
If you receive a Windows Security pop up asking Would you like to install this device software? Make sure to check the box: Always trust software from "SCT Performance LLC" and then click INSTALL.

Step 4) At the end of the installation you should click FINISH for both the software installation as well as the drivers.

The next step is to connect the SCT programmer and allow the Drivers to connect to the tuner.
  Install the Drivers
This step is going to be slightly different depending on which version of windows you have. Below is a walk through for XP and Windows 7 the two most common versions being used.
Installing Drivers on Windows 7
After the SCT Device Updater is installed, you are ready to connect the SCT Tuner. Using the supplied USB cable, connect to the Tuner's USB port, then to the Computer's USB port.

At the bottom right near the computer's clock you'll see a bubble window: "Installing Device Driver Software. Click here for status."

If you were to click on the Installing device driver software bubble for more details, you would see these two windows. First displaying the progress window, then when complete you'll see the Ready to Use window. Click Close to proceed.

Installing Drivers on Windows XP
After the SCT Device Updater is installed, you are ready to connect the SCT Tuner. Using the supplied USB cable, connect to the Tuner's USB port, then to the Computer's USB port.

Wait for the Found New Hardware Wizard to Pop Up.

It may ask you "Can Windows connect to Windows Update to Search for Software?" If it does, click "No, Not at this Time" and press Next.

Select "Install the Software Automatically (Recommended)" and click Next. This will only work if you have already installed the SCT Device Updater Software.

Click Finish to Finish the Driver Installation.

Tech Tip: If you did not receive a Found New Hardware Wizard on XP or if you did not see the Installation Bubble on Windows 7, the best thing to do first is simply disconnect the USB from the computer and connect to a different USB port. If after this you are still not making progress, proceed to the next step of loading the tunes. If you get errors communicating you will need to manually install the drivers. Here is a link to a How-To for Installing the Drivers Manually.
  Loading your MPT Custom Tunes
Step 1) Now that the drivers are installed, open the SCT Device Updater Software. There will be a new Icon on your desktop.
Step 2) Once opened, click on the button labeled: "Load Custom Tune File" this will open the window for loading custom tunes onto your tuner.

Step 3) If you saved your tunes to Desktop, Downloads or My Documents you can click on the button: "Locate Custom Tunes"

If you did not save to one of these 3 locations, you'll need to click browse and navigate to the location you saved the tunes.

Step 4) If you were able to click Locate Custom Tunes, you'll be brought to this window showing the custom tunes you have saved from your email. Click on one of them, and press Select.

Step 5) After selecting the tune, click on the cicle button next to the File # you want to update. You'll need to name the tune. This step is important because this is what you will see when you are going to tune the vehicle with custom tunes. If you name it Tune1, you will never know which tune it is. I suggest you name it along the same lines as the MPT naming format. MPT Bazooka Street, MPT PerfEcon Chill etc.

Step 6) Once the file position is selected and the Tune Name is populated, press the Program button. This will add the file to your tuner.

For more than one tune file, repeat this process, otherwise you are ready to take the tuner to the vehicle and install the tune. Make sure you choose Custom Tune when at the vehicle and follow the on screen prompts.
Attention: After loading a tune, if there are any questions or concerns you should return to stock immediately and contact us before loading your tunes back on. Also for any questions related to the tunes or the products purchased from MPT, contact us before contacting SCT.
