What is an MPT Tune and why do I need one?
It's no lie that an SCT programmer works, it's been proven time and time again. We've dyno tested the preloaded SCT tunes and are almost always happy with the increased power over stock. Sometimes though, it's not enough. Sometimes you want a more refined tune. That's where MPT comes in, we've spent 1000's of hours on our in-house dyno developing our MPT tunes for the Ecoboost platform. We've taken our own personal ecoboost truck to the drag strip and raced it. We daily drive our trucks in order to know the truck inside and out. This knowledge has helped us develop tunes that are purpose built with results that will surprise you.
- Step 1 is to decide how many MPT tunes you want and make your purchase. ***Wait until you receive your SCT device before moving onto Step 2.***
- Step 2 is fill out the MPT Tune Form. Instructions on how to retrieve the required information will be emailed to you.
- Step 3 is receive your tunes via email. MPT will build the tunes per your request on the tune form. They are delivered via email along with important info on how to load and use them.

FUEL OCTANE MATTERS
- PR-X Tune | Available for 93 Octane, 91 Octane and E-30 Mix:
PR-X, also known as Performance Race Xtreme, is our top-performance tune for the Ecoboost F150 with a massive dyno proven gain. This is by far the preferred tune on this truck due to the ridiculous power gains over stock. The truck feels so much lighter with the increased throttle response and part throttle boost. With this tune you are looking at huge increases in low end torque and acceleration, faster 0-60 times, quicker 1/4 mile results, shift points optimized with a focus on performance. The shift points will happen at a higher rpm/mph than stock and will be firmer than stock. If Sport mode equip, it will have a noticeable increase in throttle response above that of the already increased base shift mode. The PR-X tune is only available for premium fuels of 91 octane or better. The E30 version is designed to be used with a mixture of E85 and premium fuel. Combined mixture can be up to E30, the E30 tune can also be used with unleaded high octane race fuel.
- PR-X (No Trans Tuning) | Available for 93 Octane, 91 Octane and E-30 Mix:
This tune has all the benefits of the above PR-X but has the trans setup very mild for those that prefer the stock feeling shifts of the truck.
- Daily-Tow | Available for 93 Octane, 91 Octane, 87 Octane and E-30 Mix:
The Daily-Tow Performance tune is a step down from PR-X. Designed to be a performance tune and a towing tune hybrid, the main difference is the peak boost. Peak boost is lower than PR-X but we were able to keep most of the improvements from PR-X. Throttle response and part throttle boost is still a drastic improvement over stock. This tune can be referred to as the "Street" or "Daily Driver" tune with a focus on all around performance but not so much that it is no longer a good idea to tow with it.
- Daily-Tow (No Trans Tuning) | Available for 93 Octane, 91 Octane, 87 Octane and E-30 Mix:
This tune has all the benefits of the above Daily-Tow Performance tune above but has the trans setup very mild for those that prefer the stock feeling shifts of the truck.
- Adaptive Any Octane - Performance Trans Tune:
This tune can be used with any octane fuel, the concept behind this tune is to take the improved shifting and performance of the PR-X tune but leave spark, boost and other items stock allowing them to adapt the fuel in the vehicle. Throttle response and part throttle acceleration will still have a noticeable increase over stock.
- Octane: Gas vehicle tunes are heavily impacted by the octane of fuel being used. If you want power, run higher octane. Running a higher octane allows us to advance the spark more which results in better performance. That being said, you should pick tunes for the octane you plan on running. If you always have and always will run 87-89 octane, then that is what you should choose. You can run a tune for 87-89 octane and fill the tank with 93, however you cannot run a tune for 93 octane and fill up with 87-89. Doing so will result in knock activity, a loss of power output and in rare cases, possible engine damage. Our recommendation for performance tunes is to run the highest octane available. This is especially important on a turbo vehicle.
The E30 version of tunes are designed to be used with a mixture of E85 and premium fuel. Combined mixture can be up to E30, E30 tunes can also be used with unleaded high octane race fuel.
For mixtures greater than E30 on the gen1, upgrades are required. Full E85 is possible with an upgrade fuel system.

SCT Pre-Loaded On-Device Adjustable Options:
When installing the preloaded SCT tunes onto the vehicle, there are options for the user. The list below reflects available options that the user has to setup the preloaded tunes.
|Octane Based Tunes
|Gas vehicle's preloaded tunes vary Performance levels by octane. For example, 3 preloaded tunes may indicate an 87 octane tune, 91 octane tune and 93 octane tune. Premium fuel will provide the best performance increase over stock.
|Set the axle ratio to correct shift patterns and speedometer.
|Set the tire size to correct shift patterns and speedometer.
|Remove, Increase or Decrease the vehicles speed limiter. (aka governor)
|Sets Rev Limit in RPM.
|Sets Idle speed in RPM.
Available Options on each vehicle will vary.
MPT Tune On-Device Adjustable Options:
When the MPT tunes are being loaded onto the vehicle, there are options for the user. The list below reflects available options that the user has to tweak the tune beyond what MPT has already set. Adjustable options will over-write the MPT Tune.
|Idle Speed Neutral (rpm)
|Sets the base rpm that the vehicle will attempt to idle at before temperature and time based multipliers.
|Neutral Rev Limit (rpm)
|Sets the rev limit while in park or neutral.
|Sets the axle ratio for the vehicle. This must match the physical specs of the rear diff. Corrects speedometer after physical change and also aids in correction shifting.
|Sets the tire size aka tire revs per mile for the vehicle. This must match the physical specs of the tire. Corrects speedometer after physical change and also aids in correction shifting. Online tire revs per mile calculators can be used to assist in determining this value if the manufacturer does not provide it.
Please note: It is More Power Tuning's (MPT) policy not to manufacture, offer for sale, sell, convey, or otherwise transfer any product, including Handheld Devices, Pre-Loaded Tunes, or Calibrations that contain features to bypass, defeat or render inoperative the following: EGR, Rear Oxygen Sensors, SCR, DPF, NAC, DOC, or any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) associated with these emission controls. Products/Calibrations shall retain the full operation and functionality of the On Board Diagnostic System (OBD), will continue to satisfy emissions requirements, such as meeting standards within useful life or maintaining emissions performance outside useful life.
