Q: I am thinking of buying 3 tunes a daily driver, race tune and fuel economy tune Is it safe to run the 93 octane high boost tune as a daily driver?

Asked by: Joel Nolasco - 3/29/2016
A: We have many customers who use the 93 PR-X High Boost tune as a daily driver. All of our tunes are safe to drive daily. Just some are designed for certain functions. For example: You do not want to tow with the High Boost tune. Strictly use the Towing tune.

Q: hello, i would like to buy your custom performance 93 tune. However, I am wondering if I can use my old SCT device to install this tune? my truck is a 2016 ecoboost 3.5. Thank you

Asked by: Gilberto - 5/8/2016
A: The 2015+ vehicles are only supported by the SCT X4, Livewire TS, and iTSX. If it is not one of these models, your SCT device will not work.

Now, if you have one of those and used it on a another vehicle before your current one, you just need to make sure it is unmarried. If it is, you are all set to purchase new tunes for your new vehicle.

Q: What is the difference between the specific tune for my vehicle for 149.99, and what seems like a generic ford email tune for 99.99? I have a 2011 Ford F-150 eco boost, Which option is for me?

Asked by: Brandon - 7/6/2016
A: Sorry for the confusion. On the listing for the "generic ford email tune", you will see that there is a space asking if it is an Ecoboost evhicle or not. If you click yes, it will add $50 to the price and it will be the same as the vehicle specific listing for the Ecoboost F150 that you also found. An Ecoboost tune, no matter which page you purchase it from, is $149.95 for 1 tune.

Q: I found your company after I purchased my SCT Livewire ts+. if I purchase a custom tune from you but buy parts somewhere else because of shipping costs to Hawaii, is there a fee to update tunes?

Asked by: unkokalani - 8/15/2016
A: Should you not buy parts from our site, you would have to purchase a $20 tune update. The update covers all tunes you have from us for that price, not just one. So, if you have 1 or 10 tunes, it would still be $20.

Q: Can I permanently disable the P04DB code that I keep tripping due to a AFE cold air intake system upgrade with this tuner? And if so will this affect my inspection status when I go for inspection?

Asked by: franco t - 4/13/2016
A: Installing an AFE intake should not cause any check engine lights as these intakes do not require any special tuning. The fault you listed is as an issue with the Crank Case Breather system, and a quick google search turned up this: http://obdii.pro/en/code/P04DB . We can shut off this trouble code in a tune, but we cannot answer as to whether that would affect passing an emissions inspection. In general, you should return your vehicle to stock, both tune and parts, when going in for an inspection. It might be a good idea to double check the installation and/or contact AFE directly about this issue. If the intake is for your model year truck, and is installed properly, you should not be seeing any check engine lights.

Q: I traded my 2012 for a new 2016. I had a SCT 3015 with MPT tunes in the 2012. I am wondering if the 3015 will work in the 2016? With new tunes of course. Both the 2012 and the 2016 are ecoboost. I hope so because I ran the Performance 91 tune in my 2012 for 3 years without any problems. Love the MPT tuning. Thanks Allan

Asked by: Allan LaFitte - 3/13/2016
A: Per SCT, the 3015 is not compatible with vehicles later than 2014.

Q: Okay so I’m new to tune and honestly I have no clue how it works but I want more power out of my truck so I’m interested in how to install this tune to my 2013 f150? I’m pretty mechanically inclined and technologically advanced but I’d like to know if you’d recommend I take it in to get it done or if it’s easy to do on your own?

Asked by: Kendall Strook - 12/9/2020
A: You will need two things to get this tune onto your vehicle, a Windows computer with internet access and an SCT tuner. This purchase is sent via email. You will download the tune file from your email to your computer and then, install a program called Device Updater to install it to your SCT device. You will then plug the SCT tuner into your vehicle and load the tune.

If you do not have an SCT Tuner, that would be the first step.

SCT Tuners we offer: https://www.morepowertuning.com/11-14f15035ecoboost-tuners

On all the product pages, there is a product info tab. If you click that, it will have a lot of great information on the process, tunes, etc. I would suggest reviewing that as well.

Handling things over email/the internet is normally easiest for our customers and more cost effective.

Q: With the E85 tune what hp and torque gains do you see on a 2015 ecoboost stock 3.5

Asked by: Xman - 9/1/2021
A: You would not be able to run straight E85 on a stock vehicle. You would need some fuel system modifications before that would be possible. Your vehicle can run up to E30 (a blend of 93 and E85 in most cases) without any modifications. Tuning for E30 will result in larger gains than 93.

Q: I just got some catless down pipes for my 15 3.5 and was wondering if a tune would get rid of the cel light.

Asked by: JT E - 12/2/2021
A: You might have seen the notes on the website and tune form about emissions. Recently, the EPA made shutting off DTCs related to emissions a criminal offense. So as you can imagine, it's a very big deal to not do that.

You mentioned what EPA refers to as tampering with the emissions system. Due to this, we must clarify that our tunes are intended for vehicles with fully functional, as-certified emissions system.

Again, sorry to break the bad news here. We would love to have you as part of the MPT Tuned family, but when we are talking criminal charges on a Federal level, it's not something we can budge on.

Q: I recently installed cr industry performance exhaust manifolds as well as a sct x4 tuner would you be able to provide an update that will provide optimal performance for normal use as well as occasional towing of a 27’ Rv? If so what is the cost and how long would it take? I’m assuming you can email a downloadable file. Thanks Tony

Asked by: Tony - 12/16/2021
A: Yes, we can set you up with excellent performance and tow tunes for that setup. Choose the total number of MPT tunes you'd like from the dropdown menu. They get cheaper as you increase quantity. All MPT tunes are built to order, taking into account your modifications. There will be a tune form after purchase where you'll fill in vehicle info and choose octane, tune type. Normal turnaround is 3 business days.
