Q: So this is gonna be my first time using a tune and I heard great things about u guys so I’m running a stock 2016 mustang v6 and i would like to know what’s a better fit for my self?

Asked by: Alias - 10/18/2020
A: When it comes to choosing how many tunes you need and what tunes they will be, there are some deciding factors.

1- Fuel octane options. To get the most power out of the vehicle, you will select the highest octane you have available. In most cases, is either 93 or 91, depending on the location. The higgher the octane the better the performance. However, this will limit the options for what fuel you cna run with the tune installed. You can always run a fuel higher than what you are tuned for, but never lower.

Example:
A tune for 93 octane is more powerful than a tune set for 87. However, you can only run 93 fuel or higher with it, while the 87 tune can use 87, 89, 91, or 903 without issue.

2- What you are looking for out of the vehicle. For a Mustang 3.7L, we offer the PR-X (performance-based) and Perf-Econ (economy-based) tune options.

It would be best to get enough tunes to cover all of your bases. Think about the situations you come across and what you do with the vehicle. Then, try to get a tune for each one of those instances.

Asked by: Oscar - 11/23/2020
A: Totally good to go on the same tune. The performance increase from that modification will happen from the physical improvement to airflow in such a way that doesn’t benefit from additional calibration

Q: Do yall offer a ghost cam tune for the 2017 v6 mustang?

Asked by: Luke Huffman - 12/1/2020
A: We've pulled away from offering the ghost cam option a while ago. While our tunes include innumerable changes to cam timing and take full advantage of this engine's Ti-VCT, they won't affect how it idles for the sake of sound. Just perfectly calibrated performance.

Q: I have a 2016 mustang v6. 3.7L. I want an MPT for it to get off the red lights quicker. I log in and see so many different tunes and don't know what to get or even what to click on. What do you recommend? Also, is there an mpt for the transmission?

Asked by: Manuel Cervantes - 2/28/2021
A: Without knowing your specifics, I cannot say which tune to pick for you. When picking the tune best suited for you, it will come down to 3 choice: Octane, Type of Tune, and Transmission Tuning.

Octane: The higher the octane, the more power you will get. However, it will limit what fuels you can run with it. You cannot use an octane lower than what your tune is set for.

Type of tune: For this vehicle, it is the PR-X or the Perf-Econ. If you are looking for the best performance period, you will go with the PR-X. All of our tunes are safe to use as daily drivers and will not harm the vehicle.

Transmission tuning: All of our tunes come with transmission tuning by default (for automatic vehicles). if you're looking for better take off, you will want this. Transmission tuning is not a separate tune or additional cost.

Q: Is this a one-time only tune? I want to know if I can revise the tune if I added something in my car or not because the price is steep for a single tune up.

Asked by: Ian - 4/2/2021
A: This purchase is for MPT Tune(s) for how your vehicle is currently set up. Should you make any modifications, we offer discounted rates for them via our Tune Update pages and some items (if purchased from us) will get free tune updates. You would not have to purchase all new tunes at full price or "start from scratch". Also, with the Tune Update, it is a flat cost that covers all tunes you have on file with us. For example: You wouldn't have to purchase 3 Tune Updates for 3 MPT Tunes. It would be 1 Tune update for all 3 tunes.

Q: Cost for 3 tunes? I'm thinking 93 PRX and 91 and possibly 87 Economy. Probably just 91 and 93. Is 91 Octane with no ethanol beneficial, or is regular 91 octane with ethanol better?

Asked by: PAUL JOHNSTON - 4/17/2021
A: Using the dropdown on the product page to select 3 tunes total, the price changes to $190.

91 with no ethanol will not increase power numbers. The results with or without ethanol will be the same.

Q: I live in a country where fuel has been tested to give very low octane ratings. Which of your tunes would you recomend?

Asked by: Question Mark - 8/17/2021
A: Without knowing the specific octane levels you have in yoru area, it would be hard to advise you on this. If fuel quality is that poor, it would be best to stick with a lower octane like 87 US or possibly get an Adaptive Transmission Only tune.

Q: My Mustang V6 runs on 87 Octane, is there an 87 that tunes my engine to perform better? Meaning would it be worth it to order 87? Because they only sell 85,87, and 91 Octane where I live. I was thinking 87, and 91, if the 87 out performs my stock 87. Thank you, I'll be ordering right after you provide me with this answer. Kurt
