Q: Can I get a tune for a 2nd gen to delete cats?

Asked by: Jesus Rubalcava - 10/22/2021
A: You might have seen the notes on the website and tune form about emissions. Recently, the EPA made shutting off DTCs related to emissions a criminal offense. So as you can imagine, it's a very big deal to not do that.

You mentioned what EPA refers to as tampering with the emissions system. Due to this, we must clarify that our tunes are intended for vehicles with fully functional, as-certified emissions system.

Q: Hey guys I have a 2018 f150 3.5 eco.. turbo adapters and 180stat. I wanted a e50 and 93prx.. on these tunes the part throttle boost tge tune I'm running now part throttle boost will be almost 20psi and will ping a good bit in winter time and some in summer. You guys do the same?

Asked by: Robby Fuller - 11/8/2021
A: Shouldn't be pinging. All MPT tunes are built to order, taking into account your modifications. There will be a tune form after purchase where you'll fill in vehicle info and choose octane, tune type. When it comes to increasing performance through tuning, we take a long-form approach that works within the framework that Ford has already established for allowing it to adapt to changes in environment and retains or expands upon the safeguards they’ve engineered. Goal is great drivability and response in normal driving conditions while unlocking its maximum potential at wide-open throttle. Not pushing any components beyond what they’re capable of, but rather unlocking what’s already there.

Q: Will this tune work with the pedal comander

Asked by: Scott - 12/6/2021
A: With our tuning, you would remove the pedal Commander, as it isn't necessary. Our tunes do the same thing as the Pedal Commander and you don't want to "stack" them.

Q: If I instal this and take it off right before service at first, will the dealer be able to see and will it void my warranty?

Asked by: Oscar Hernandez - 12/25/2021
A: From what our customers are telling us, they're not having issues getting warranty work done. Recommend you return to stock before taking it in. Make a note of your processor code before and after, so that if it changes we can email you updated tunes that match any software updates they applied.
Ultimately, questions regarding warranty are better aimed at your dealership. We cannot actively assist in circumventing any of their policies.

A vehicle’s warranty as a whole may not be voided due to use of aftermarket parts per the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act. However, a manufacturer may require a customer to pay for parts and labor for a repair if there is direct causation between a customer’s alteration and the product or service repair being requested. It is in both manufacturer and customer’s interest to follow logic and reason so that the system of good faith is not abused. If this topic interests you please read the law as well as your warranty documentation. We are tuning professionals and enthusiasts, we are not lawyers and cannot provide legal advice.

Q: I have several tunes from you, but I’m looking to get the 87 tow tune for my long distance travel trailer runs. What’s the difference between the 87 and 91 tow tune as far as power? I currently have the 91. Trying to decide if it’s worth the price savings or not.

Asked by: Jerron Clark - 6/26/2022
A: Can definitely expect less output from the lower octane version of that tune. 87 Daily Tow still feels very light on its feet compared to stock. Great throttle response and shifting, just with a relatively modest bump in peak power output.

Q: I have a 2018 3.5 Eco - I'm looking into adaptive tuning and while I'd like better throttle response, the main goal is just smoother shifting and better performance when towing. Not looking to hot dog my truck around because I want it to last. What do you recommend? Thanks so much!

Asked by: Ethan - 8/25/2022
A: Recommend you make the Daily Tow tune one of your choices. We can set it up for 87, 91, or 93 octane. Since it's totally fine to run a higher octane in the tank versus what the tune is set up for, an 87 octane version of that tune would give you a lot of flexibility.
