Walbro’s 450 LPH “turbine style” in-tank high pressure fuel pump is one of the highest flowing intank pumps on the market today. Engineered to reliably meet the fuel-hungry demands of turbocharged gasoline high performance engines, this pump is amazingly quiet and heats fuel less, due to the turbine rotor design. Walbro Engineers based the overall design on the same 39mm motor from the proven 255HP, but changed from the outdated “gerotor pump” to a high performance and more modern “Turbine pump”. They also revised the motor assembly to allow for PWM fuel pump control or standard +12V. The turbine pump head utilizes two sets of turbine blades set in parallel on a common shaft (like that of a jet engine). The pump design pressurizes the fuel as it flows through the pump axially, without forcing the fluid to change direction with the end result being tremendous flow rates at a broad range of different rail pressures and to suit various injector sizes. This pump is a great solution for high fuel requirement turbocharged cars under 500hp and anyone looking to make big power and run high boost with a simple fuel system where the 255 won’t cut it. It's also suitable for high-performance GDI engines such as Ford EcoBoost F150 and Mustang
