Tune Your 2021-2022 F-150 with HP Tuners

This service unlocks the pcm on 21-22 F150 3.5, 5.0 and 2.7 vehicles to be used with HP Tuners RTD and MPVI. Once unlocked, the tuning process is the same as in previous years. An MPT tune and 4 credits will be purchased separately.

This unlock service will allow your F150 to be tuned by any HP Tuners licensed tuning dealer or by DIY self-tuners. This is a one-time service upgrade for Ford MG1 PCMs, requiring the removal of the PCM from the vehicle and then sent to HP Tuners.

MPT tuning the vehicle is NOT a requirement in order to purchase this unlock service.
Unlock service purchases do not include tune files from MPT.

How does the HP Tuners PCM Unlock process work?

1. Purchase this Unlock Service from the MPT Website.

2. Print HP Tuners Shipping Form

   (This will also be emailed to you.) HP Tuners PCM Shipping Form

3. Remove PCM from the vehicle and securely package it to ship to HP Tuners.

   (MPT has helpful info and videos available on PCM removal process.) Place the Shipping Form in the box. You can use any shipping carrier you prefer for shipping from you to HP Tuners. Shipping from you to HP Tuners is not included in this order. (PCM must be fully functional without external, internal or pin damage.)

4. Write your order number on the outside of the shipping box.

5. Ship your PCM to HP Tuners.

6. HP Tuners will upgrade your PCM for tuning. Then when complete, they will ship the PCM back to you.

   Return shipping options are listed on the product page. You can choose between UPS Ground, UPS 2nd day air or UPS Next Day Air. (Lower 48 only) For other locations, shipping will be determined and the difference will be paid for after the initial order.

7. Receive the upgraded PCM and re-install

   PCM is now ready to be tuned.

• What is a Ford MG1 PCM Unlock?

  Ford MG1 PCM Unlock is a service required to tune 2021-2022 F150 trucks with either the 3.5 Ecoboost, 2.7 Ecoboost or the 5.0 Coyote using HP Tuners.

• How does it work?

  The original pcm is removed from the vehicle and sent to HP Tuners for the unlock process.
  HP Tuners lists to expect 1-3 business days for servicing and mentions this does not include shipping time.

• What does this service include?

  The HP Tuners pcm unlock service only upgrades your pcm for tuning. It does not reprogram the PCM with an aftermarket tune. It does not include an HP Tuners tuning device.

• Is it possible to use a 2nd pcm for tuning?

  Yes, you can purchase a blank pcm, then take the vehicle, 2 keys and the blank PCM to Ford to be programmed. Once that process is complete, you can send either the original or the 2nd pcm to HP Tuners to be unlocked.

• Will the pcm work with other tuning software?

  HP Tuners lists on their website: No other tuning or calibration tools can be used with the PCM (including dealer reflash tools). - However, we've been told you can use FDRS on an unlocked ECU and it does not undo the unlock.

• Will HP Tuners VCM Editor and VCM Scanner work after unlocked?

  Yes, VCM Editor, VCM Scanner, Dealer Diagnostic, and other diagnostic tools will work normally.
