Mishimoto racing thermostats promote enhanced cooling efficiency by drastically reducing high engine temperatures. Once the engine is fully warmed up, the Mishimoto low-temperature racing thermostat will open at 160°F compared to the standard temperature of 180/188°F done by factory thermostats. This permits coolant to flow through the engine at an earlier point, which reduces and maintains cooler engine temperatures. To fully take advantage of this upgrade, the PCM/ECU will need to be calibrated with an MPT tune. If you already have MPT Tunes, simply submit a new MPT Tune Form telling us what you have installed and your invoice number for the thermostat purchase.
